Sonoma Valley Hospital will host “Mindful Meditation and Movement,” a six-week workshop series led by Patricia Brooks, LCSW, PhD, and Kristine Marchus, MA, RYT beginning Friday, March 3, 2017.

The program consists of six weekly one-and-a-half hour sessions. Each session contains a facilitated Mindful Meditation practice and a gentle movement sequence that emphasizes balance and grounding in the present moment. Breathwork and guided visualization exercises are included. Benefits include stress reduction, promotion of healing, energy, strength, flexibility and greater well-being.

The instructors are accomplished and skilled at creating a safe, supportive, and deeply engaging experiential learning environment.  They will assist you in integrating and practicing mindfulness into your everyday life.

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring water, a yoga mat, a soft blanket and journal. All physical abilities are welcome and those with limited mobility will be given options to work within their capacity.

Classes are scheduled each Friday for six consecutive weeks, beginning March 3, 2017, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Hospital’s Basement Conference Room, 347 Andrieux Street, in Sonoma.  Cost is $125 per person and class size is limited to 20 participants.
