Sonoma Valley Hospital will again host “Mindful Meditation and Movement,” a dynamic six-week workshop led by Patricia Brooks, LCSW, PhD, and Kristine Marchus, MA, RYT beginning Friday, March 8, 2019.

The program consists of six weekly one-and-a-half hour sessions. Each session contains a facilitated Mindful Meditation practice and a gentle movement sequence that emphasizes balance and grounding in the present moment. Breathwork and guided visualization exercises are included. Benefits include stress reduction, promotion of healing, energy, strength, flexibility and greater well-being.

The instructors are skilled at creating a safe, supportive, and deeply engaging experiential learning environment.  They will assist you in learning how to learn, practice and integrate mindfulness into your everyday life.

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring water, a yoga mat, a soft blanket and journal. All physical abilities are welcome and those with limited mobility will be given options to work within their capacity. Chairs and yoga mats may be provided.

Classes are scheduled each Friday for six consecutive weeks, beginning March 18, 2019, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the Hospital’s Basement Conference Room, 347 Andrieux Street, in Sonoma. Cost is $125 per person and class size is limited. To register, or for more information, please contact Patricia Brooks at 707.935.2900, or email pbrooksphd@gmail.com
